Its Great for an Ipod this Small, If you need to do exercise, this is the ipod for you.
Was it Amazon or Apple's fault?
Let me first say that I love this shuffle - it is perfect for moving around the house or taking a walk while being able to listen to tunes or podcasts. Sure, it doesn't hold as many songs as the big guys but for my use it's great. And when I get tired of the songs I am listening to, then I just go on to itunes and change them. No muss, no fuss. The problem (and hence the 3 stars) was because the battery wasn't holding a charge even when I turned it off.
Sometimes I only use it once a week and everytime I went to use it, the battery was dead. So I phoned Apple and their customer service is most excellent. They said that the battery should be holding its charge and they would send me a new one. They put a hold-charge on my credit card for the new one and once I returned the old one, they would cancel the charge. They sent the new one within a couple days with an easy return envelope (they paid all the shipping). Haven't had a problem yet with the new one but I have only had for a few days. Question is: does Amazon sell inferior products or was this just a fluke?
Great & cheap way to listen to your tunes!
I bought the Shuffle after I lost my regular Ipod. I didn't want to pay 250$ again, so I got the 1 GB for 50$. Ok it sucks that it doesn't have a display screen for song names, but for that little money, it's a winner, especially that you can put all of the music you bought from iTunes. The sound quality is good, it's tiny so you can just put it in your pocket without feeling it, and you can clip it onto your clothes during your workout.
